Maybe, could be that, seems like a bit of a stretch though for TMO marketing purposes.

I'm personally of the opinion it's a "Whelp, we beat the game, what now?" situation. We only want to play and enjoy this game with each other, we're tight knit like that. Once you get accepted, you kind of just realize there isn't another place on the server you can have as much fun. So when things start to get dull and running through the same dragon over and over doesn't take you from six to midnight, you take some time to handle your business, you play other games with each other (LoL, SC2, D3 Beta), you move forward with your real life, etc. but you don't leave. Not if you get accepted, because if you make it that far you know TR is what you're looking for.

For example, I think it was the first week of May Me, Nirron, Kira, Stefen, Bossco, Wonton, Athiyk, Skie, Daimadoshi, Shadze, Kalrei, Mady etc. all quit to some extent. You'll notice that's most of the 'First to 60 ____ Class". You'll also notice that times up real well with Nilbog getting hit by a tornado and the news leaking around that VP would be a ways off at best. The world dragons were also released then and we ran through them all as well (Server First, Server First, Server First.) And, honestly no offense, there wasn't really any competition at the time to make things fun and exciting.

So at the end of the day, we play together with the people we like and for a common purpose. When that purpose is gone (Loot/New Kills/Racing for something relevant), you take your break, but you don't bail on your friends. It's actually a very healthy way to play the game, all things considered. The new friends we roll in to the mix keep the guild moving forward and when new content comes out, everyone dives back in (see: Sky, Kunark, World Dragons, The Hole).

So, maybe you're right, maybe everyone just gets beaten down into oblivion by having fun raiding and achieving everything they wanted to in classic and they just fade away and come back like a battered housewife every time new content comes out. Or maybe you're just afraid of what you may be missing out on and don't want to acknowledge that something ballin like TR exists, so you deny the facts and project.

so says the first person to ragequit when he loses a mob .... lol
