It's mostly an enormous amount of duped PP that's in the economy - there's a couple hundred cheating c*nts on the server (see recent suspensions), and the pp that was stripped from characters in various actions did not cover the pp already spent. So a lot of money was pumped into the market and it's kinda impossible to get rich enough to buy stuff by farming pp, you need to get lucky on some good drops and sell them to get your share of the pp.
So we gotta live with it...
