I've used 80lb test, braided line, and never had a catfish brake it and i've gotten some monsters on jugs before. It is really hard for a fish to snap a line on a jug, unless he gets it wrapped around something (in which case you won't get the jug back to the top anyhow).

true. it was snooze though because every jug was either empty or had a gar on the end. i napped while they set out another run (which was similar to the first

i'm not much of a fisher tbh. i can barely tie a hook onto my line. but i bait my own hooks
