I just don't believe you jugged up several or even more than 1 at 6-8ft each. Those are nice sized Alligator gar and they tend to roam solo. Makes it hard to imagine anyone jugging an area and hooking more than one of that size.
I've caught some on my line (using a rod/reel) and had to have a steel leader to keep them from just cutting my line on their teeth. I've never had one on a jug, but i'd imagine you'd need a steel leader line on them too. Seeing as how most catfish never break normal line it would seem odd to see someone using steel leaders for catfish.
p.s. I've never caught a Gar as large as the one I posted, I've been wanting to go to Texas to bow fish for one for quite awhile tho.
