I want to come to red99. I started playing live about 2 months before Kunark, so I missed almost all of the level 50 endgame, plus I was always intrigued by the idea of adding PvP to the mix.

But as I read the forums I see a clique of raging neckbeard tryhards that are treating the coming of red99 like it is the missing fourth piece of their life's puzzle after masturbation, microwavable food and conspiracy theories. I know literally nobody who is posting here and I immediately hate almost all of you. From a blue perspective, the group clamoring the loudest for and about red99 sound like human cancer.

I see people here bragging about accomplishments that I would be embarrassed to even remember. The more intimidating you think you're being, the sadder you actually sound and the more repellent you are to blues thinking about participating. Not because you are scary, but because you care so much. You are not admired or feared by casuals. You are just avoided.

Short version: These forums make red99 sound like it has prenatal cancer with a side of Asperger's. You realize you NEED well-played casuals, both to put a pulse in a raid slot and to have someone to be better than? Be less repulsive. Start by toning down the caring.

Also, if there are any red99-bound guilds or players who lurk this mb but mostly eschew it, I would love to get in touch via pm or a post. I'm looking for a crowd of people who do not routinely spew vitriol on internet messageboards, roleplay, get drunk expressly to play EQ, and have not experienced the majority of their relationships as disembodied voices over vent.
Hi Ryba! I am very glad to see that you have an interest in Red99. We need all the people that we can get! :P

It's very understandable that you have concerns about the red playerbase, as you're probably used to a less competitive/aggressive/"in your face" gaming experience. But for you to post here to tell us that you hate us and are a human cancer is very abrasive and rude. I don't think you've even made an attempt to understand us, or where we are coming from. This is a game, and we happen to play it a little differently, which is actually a good thing. Variety is the spice of MMO life.

What you see here is mostly joking around. I seriously doubt many people are trying to intimidate their fellow players out of logging in, that would be silly and counter-productive. Have you ever played fighting games with your friends? I really enjoy playing SSBB, and when I tell my friend, "You just got kicked in the fucking face, bitch!" it's because that's part of the fun of playing those sorts of games.

We have some enemies that we really, really dislike here. And usually for good reason. Very few of us, though, are the people you have described. The hardcore players are pretty much the same hardcore players on blue. The only difference is that they can use their hardcore advantages to kill you. Are you afraid of dying in a video game? You were actually very unclear on what it is you dislike about us, opting instead to attack us personally.

I'm a casual pvp player, and I have been for many years. The situation was bad on VZTZ because the population was so low, and the people that were aware of the server were largely from a hardcore background. Here I expect things to be a lot different, and this is mostly because this is a P99 effort. They have a wonderful community, and now they can experience the joys of everquest pvp if they haven't before. When it comes down to it, we're the ones that decide if a casual approach to a pvp server is viable. If we want for it to happen, we have to help make it happen. Complaining about the hardcore raiders will not make them go away.

To be honest, you seem to be the childish one, coming here with a chip on your shoulder and your *GRR* face on. If you can't handle a little competitive trash talk in a video game or message board, maybe you should consider anger management. If you are able to change your attitude a little I think a anti-pk guild would be a good fit for you. Since you really don't like us all that much, why not work to kill us? It could be you purging norrath of scum like me, instead of the other way around.

I really hope you're trolling :P
