Looking back on it...
What really killed the scene was the formation of crews (FSU, FCF, ODS, and MTS) especially around the Boston and Jacksonville scenes that eventually spread out. If it wasn't for a bunch of hardliners and nazipunks that routinely brought brass knuckles to hardcore shows and would feud and seriously injure people grouping up in sorts of "pseudo-gangs" then punk would've been ok.
In a sense, blame bands like Terror, Earth Crisis, and other hardline bands for introducing militant and intolerant ideals under the guise of "youth crew"
