Lethdar is right.
Clerics are very powerful in pvp.
Clerics get plate armor, have root, blind, two lines of stun, the best heals in the game, huge hp buffs, Magic resist which is great to resisst spells like root or snare.
For pve they have awesome undead nukes and can solo good in undead spots much like a paladin.
They are the number one wanted class in any group pvp or pve followed by maybe a bard.
Downside is they cant solo well in pvp because they have trouble putting out significant damage. But its not really a downside because you are going to have instant friends if your not a douchebag.
I had a friend who was a 55 cleric and we pvped a bunch together. He could beat almost anyone 1v1 because of his resist buffs/gear and the fact that he could run other casters oom damaging him as he just out healed it and then melee/nuked them to death and stunned/sheild bashed if they tried to heal or run or gate.
1v1 most classes will not even bother with you because it usually will be a long fight. Either you will be able to run or they will.
In group pvp people will want to kill you. Gameplay would be avoiding casters by line of sight, running from melee, healing/buffing allies and then throwing assist spells like root or stun out.
