Cool thanks guys, I've managed to save up 7pp so far, and have a bag worth of belts to sell now too. good to know about the cracked staff/fist damage, I've found a staff on a skele already too.
I went ahead and tried to look up monk fist damage and I found this site

However, I don't know if that's accurate for classic, or if fist scaling has changed on live.
