Paladin's are great in PvP. You will need SoW or JBOOTS and a GB (or deep six cutlass) + shield. Bash is important vs any caster. You'll also need a heavy hitting 2 hander to joust melees.
You should be fine as long as you're not dumb.
Also, you'll be getting a heavy exp penalty.
