And original poster is right, age of the game is irrelevant - you either take the game seriously and with respect, or you don't.

Agreed completely.
The game definitely is worthy of respect. I've never muttered that phrase because I have high views of the game (more than some family members
[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]). The comment about being a child isn't knocking the activity of playing intensely but personalities/antics of certain people.
It's ideal to think people have matured in 12 years. It's also ideal to think the, "it's a 12 year old game" is anything but a petty jab and justification for cheaters and assholes to get away with murder.
Respect or GTFO.
