Eh...While I understand the potential for interpreting her original statement as self-deprecating and derogatory to her gender, I don't think it was the obvious intent of what she said or what most people would take from it.
Just compare the % of men who are proficient in hacks or software manipulation compared to the % of women who are proficient in the same. Although i'm not looking at data on it, my wild guess is that more men are proficient in that area than women - not that they're better at it on an individual level, but a man, statistically, is more likely to be proficient at it.
I think that was the intent of her message, not "oh i'm a woman, obviously I'm retarded when it comes to math and science," which would be much more deserving of a riled-up response based in feminine pride.
On topic... The bit of respect I had for peace pipe as a group of cool/relaxed people has seriously vanished.
