How far is that presidential??

I have a bucket list to do half dome in Yosemite, mostly because of how hard I hear it can be. I just hate traveling…
about 20 miles, 9k feet of gain, and 9 summits - north to south you get the hardest part done with first with fresh legs

12-13 miles above treeline iirc

people far more fit than i ultra-light pack and run it...i had boots on and a bigger pack...and i stopped quite a bit to take pictures and just enjoy it....was a perfect day

half dome is cool, the cables are neat (gotta start hella early if you want to beat the crowd which can be dangerous if people are morons), just getting a permit via the lottery sucks - but you can get a wilderness / backpacking permit and circumvent the lotto system

do bring gloves for half dome tho, the cables will tear your hands up

clouds rest and 4 mile / panorama / john muir loop are both great options if you dont want to deal with permits - or say to heck w/ yosemite in general and go bag whitney

im almost "done" with new england...single day pemi is going to require some extra training....and im saving katahdin for last

i want to start chipping away at the 14ers in CO - did elbert years ago and havent been back since
