I think you severely underestimate the popularity of GTA. GTA V is the 3rd best selling game of all time behind Minecraft and Tetris.

Oh I don't mean to make it sound like the game will be unpopular overall. It's going to be a massive success.
I just don't think it would have any impact on server population if P99 somehow launched a new server this fall. You'd still likely have 1,800 - 2,200 people on the server.
