I played a few days this last week, and there's surely a large portion of the population that goes very deep into theoryQuest, metaQuest, etc. But there also seems to be a significant number of people who are returning to EQ after many years away.
The game doesn't feel *too* easy, but it's definitely easier than p99 by leagues. I enjoy it, because I have such limited play-time these days.
They patched twice already during Open Beta, and early on it's encouraging to see that the devs are experimenting and trying new balances, etc.
I do hope, however, that they don't listen to the vocal minority of ultra-gamers. I fear that this teams' lack of experience with this large of a player population means they will capitulate to the vocal minority, players who are ultimately fickle when it comes to what games they play. The ultra-gamer wants the game to be the way they envision it, just to stop playing in 2 months after they've speed-runned through all the content.
