Mine's been organized on mostly work capacity and power endurance for rock climbing. There's an outdoor climbing spot about 3 hours from my metro area and I've been considering going there in a couple weeks. Word on the street is that the rock type there is mostly quartzite which is supposedly similar to granite but I'm imagining moisture control (i.e. dry hands) is gonna be critical. I'm wondering if I should wait until this heat dome abates some weekend for good friction on the rock but we'll see.

Oh rock climbing is sweet. Do you have an indoor spot near you? I used to have a membership to one in my 20’s, but it was so expensive monthly. I love the concept, but I was never all that good being 220lbs. I did at least get the idea that you aren’t climbing with your hands, you are with your feet; your hands are just to hold you to the wall. I still remember my old instructor in a rock climbing class at college saying “you should climb the wall the way you would climb a ladder” 🙂
Yea outdoor climbing could be sketchy. I see people put thick gym pads down in a spot near the mountain I hike, if they are not belaying
