For all the crap people have to say about it - you don't have to deal with people monopolizing spawns like Plane of Hate, Stormfeather, etc.
The only ones who will stick around P99 are the pixel-sick folks who spent years of their lives poopsocking 16 hour windows for a shot at a BiS toon, and are chin deep in the sunk-cost fallacy. Or the folks who can't afford a subscription. Or the folks that want to keep selling their plat on EBay.
Either way, after seeing the popularity of the Open Beta for EQL this week, I reckon Blue will have Red population in a few months, and Green will not be much healthier.

This is the way emu servers work. Others come and go with new takes. They get popular for a bit and then fall off. P99's population has always fluctuated as such.
People will eventually get bored of Everquest WoW solo mode and return to classic EQ. But I'm sure EQL will do well for a bit. Maybe 6-12 months
