I twinked out a monk pretty well. Honestly kinda struggle still in CoM depending on the mob at 55. Very unwhelming solo class at least until massive raid gear compared to my sk who could go like hours with no breaks.
LDCs are much better.

Well the greater war boned are monks, so they dual wield innately with double attack. I'd always use stonestance on them.
And the wraiths / phantoms proc the lifetap. They are pretty rough also.
