Roddenberry's post sacrity communist utopia was peak boomer optimism, whatever it was it was at least honest to itself, geniue in its optimism, nu-trek i don't even know what the point of it is or what it's trying to say.

On the theoracy point, I think the feudal monarchy pyramid is the most efficient and stable system with the church as a seperate outside the state power and stabilizing force with excommunication veto over the sovereign in case they go all mad king, it's why I think the sci fi that uses it seems the most realistic.. Dune, WH40k, Apples Foundation series..etc
