They bungled the potential of EQL by making the game too solo-friendly and making gear so easy to get that it's worthless. They should have designed and balanced the game such that killing dragons/gods requires at least 4 players and you only get one raid instance every 72 hours or something. People are stupid and don't know what they're asking for when they say they want to solo dragons. It's like a 4 year-old saying he wants to eat nothing but birthday cake. You can't actually give that to him because he's too stupid to realize the long-term implications (not to mention that he would get sick of eating cake really quickly anyway). When you can kill gods/dragons 35x in a week and get your own individual loot table each time, the game becomes totally meaningless very fast. EQ is built around gear progression. When that progression is accelerated to the point of absurdity (and even worse, not split up between multiple characters/alts as is normally the case) then there is no reason to keep playing the game once nostalgia has been satisfied, because it provides no meaningful feeling of accomplishment or difficulty.
