It's clear after reading this thread that not everyone believes or understands what America was about, or stood for, in the same way.
It also makes it clear to me how propagandized our country, and maybe even the world has become.

The propoganda you are referring to breeds a defeatist attitude. This defeatist attitude is the real problem, and you have clearly been propogandized.
Start by improving yourself, and be the change you want to see.
You won't fix anything you think is wrong with America if you just mope about and give up.
