Usually I find that I can sit far enough away that I can charm a snared mob without having to root them first, especially once you have Call of Karana. I mostly use the root override trick in Kedge Keep where you pretty much have to do it that way. |
Yeah I think it is indeed a matter of preference. You can always med waiting for it to wear off but I've dispelled them before to reposition faster (dispel on enemy mob then reroot over pet). If there's no threat or time constraint it doesn't matter if you med during or after fight but if you're trying to beat repops or fighting something that breaks root often I'd rather just be done with it sooner than later.
Places like chardok named you're often sandwiched between spawns so you really don't have the space to kite a broken pet either. But if you're killing wolves in eastern karana it isn't an issue.
