I am not sure why you are arguing. Nobody said "you can't get Epic pieces in a smaller guild".
You can get Epic pieces without being in a guild too. You could get some friends together and kill VSR. Or you can buy it.
Cd288 was just saying a larger guild is generally better for getting epic pieces, which is true.
