Engorging costs less mana, does more damage, and casts faster.
Another root tip: if you have the root neck, on charm breaks you can cast engorging roots to quickly get your pet rooted, then override with the root neck to get your pet back in the fight faster.

Ah thanks, didn't realize the mana & cast times were less.
And good tip on rooting the pet. I usually avoid rooting them because of that, I suppose I'll have to do that root necklace quest soon.
