This is all fine and dandy but how does everyone feel giving up there personal privacy of there own computer running an injected DLL that they have no real idea what its looking at or for.
IMHO this could be a potential for legal privacy concerns or even illegal wiretapping. If you value your financial and other personal information I wouldn't run these dll's without some kind of privacy statement or a legal binding contract that holds them responsible for potential malicious intent.
This is a huge personal security and or legal nightmare. You can say "well then don't play" but the truth is I can't trust this code thats getting executed and neither should you and the fact that it wasn't explained in detail in the release notes and the source isn't offered makes it border line coercion.
While this might have caught cheaters i think this was the total wrong approach to take and frankly irresponsible from a computer security stand point.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damages the DirectX dll does to your computer. Do NOT ever put d3d9 in any other place than your everquest directory.
Hi guys, I finally found a legal way to do this (ie; only files I made myself), and I decided to package up a fix for you guys. Whenever P1999 decides to update their brown skeletons, they will be able to be displayed as texture 1. This also fixes gypsie women's alternate textures.
Included in this zip archive is eqgame.dll, and d3d9.dll.
Simply place those two files in the root directory of EverQuest (with eqgame) and your brown skeletons and gypsies are fixed for whenever P1999 updates to them.
If anyone needs to see the source code for either of the dlls to make sure this is safe, PM me on IRC and I will give you it. It simply patches memory and this may be detected by several anti-viruses as false positives.
Any questions, comments, bug reports or feedback for these fixes goes in this thread. If you need a way to test it, start your own EQEmulator server at http://www.eqemulator.org

This patch contains a new spells file as well as additional files required for play. Please obtain the latest files from the EQChanges V13, and make sure to extract all files to your EQ Directory.
Code:- Kanras: Removed hard "calculated damage" cap for < 10 and < 20 players, replaced with weapon_dmg cap.
- Kanras: Archery weapon_dmg is once again correctly being calculated.
- Kanras: Backstab and sneak now require you to be behind the mob to succeed, rather than requiring you to only be outside the mob's frontal attack cone.
- Kanras: More accurate NPC backstab and flying kick damage ranges.
- Kanras: All potential double attack/dual wield rolls will succeed for all attack types when using Kinesthetics.
- Kanras: Pets will use same calculations as PCs when doing double attack/dual wield rolls.
- Kanras: Corrected the rate at which warriors triple attack.
- Kanras: Offhand double attack can only succeed if double attack skill >= 150.
- Kanras: High-level monks can now carry increased weight without penalty. The additional allowance is granted at levels 55 and 60.
- Kanras: Two-handed weapons have had their damage-bonus modified. The damage-bonus for low-delay two-handed weapons (27 or below) created a problem similar to the weapons below and has been reduced. The damage-bonus has not changed for normal-delay (28-39) two-handed weapons. The damage bonus for high-delay two-handed weapons (40+) has been increased.
- Kanras: "Damage Table" changes. In a previous patch, they were used to justify higher PC_DMG_MULT cap (correct) and a PWR-based method for calculating the max roll (incorrect). They now account for adjusting distribution of successful hits rather than just increasing the max possible hit. Chance to successfully dual wield/double attack is also affected by the damage table you are on.
- Kanras: NPCs will no longer use escape type spells (gate, etc.) when they're close to their guard point.
- Kanras: Fix for mobs immediately pathing away after FD.
- Kanras: Enabling sneak pulling.
- Secrets: Brown Skeleton / Gypsie Fixes (New EQChanges DLL Files).
Content:- Nilbog: Tolkar Parlone will now respond to hails.
- Nilbog: Weltria Ostriss will no longer discuss quests involving the Warrens.
- Nilbog: Tektite's quest can now be completed with apprehensive or better faction.
- Nilbog: giant water moccasin melee damage is more appropriate for their level.
- Nilbog: Teria O'Danos will be less reluctant to discuss her lion shipment.
- Nilbog: Palatos will once again discuss the Painting.
- Nilbog: Lempeck Hargrin always drops the correct Fleshy Tumor.
- Nilbog: Implemented 'Shining Star of Light' Quest
- Nilbog: Fixed 'Clothspinner Sisters' (Good) quest
- Nilbog: Whysia Flock and Tyokan Mekase will spawn depending on day/night.
- Nilbog: greater sphinxes and watchful guards in plane of sky will summon pets.
- Nilbog: Tox piranha no longer give faction hits.
- Nilbog: Fixed 'Piranha Hunting' quest. Fixed Celsar Vestagon's face.
- Nilbog: Chancellor of Di`zok is now a 2 hour spawn.
- Uthgaard: Fixed Unfired Cake Round combine
- Kanras: Two low-delay weapons can now only be equipped in the off-hand. Included in this change are the Mosscovered Twig and the Barbed Scale Whip. The delay on these weapons and the associated damage bonus to weapons in the primary hand made these weapons much too powerful for their availability and the risk associated with their acquisition.
- Kanras: Reduced the max damage of the level 59 Necromancer pet.
- Kanras: Made Dragoon Zytl spawn when Kizdean Gix dies.
- Kanras: Reduced MR on many sebilis mobs.
