I started on the original Povar server. It was 1999, and I played on my son's account when he wasn't, until I got hooked and started my own. Made to level, I think it was, 65 before calling it quits. I lasted about 4-5 yrs, I can't recall exactly.
My first memory was as a newbie level 5 ranger wanting to connect with both of my kids who were in Qeynos and I was in GFay. Naive as I was I decided to trek across the world to the other side. It took me about 5 hours to do that. I can't count how many times I died and had to run back from where ever I had been bound. I didn't even understand what being bound meant until that first time I died in EComm and ended up back in GFay.

Good times, good times.
I remember my dad introducing me to EverQuest as a kid. A lot of us had that experience. These days, I'm the one guiding him in how to play! I appreciate you sharing; I'll see what I can do to spruce up the narrative side. I'll fill in those gaps and rough edges, but keep the spirit of "It was meaningful to share this game with my children."
