Personally, I think the best adventure is to start somehwere, where you can travel to qeynos around level 2 or 3, and to get a job working for the city cleaning the sewers.
And then go out and enlist in gnoll slaying, there's lots of contracts for those.
When you get to the 12's bandits are fun to hunt for their sashes.
