Besides which, losing a corpse or delevelling significantly can be a fun soft reset for a character. It opens up access to items and areas of the game you may have otherwise outgrown. An alternative to rerolling the character to relive the journey again.

If only. I've seen a few Castle monks in flayed barb legs, priceless fistwraps, completely decked out - delevel to 5 and then solo in ... Unrest, Mistmoore, City of Mist, Karnors....
I get that monk is awesome ... but I was able to solo in places like Dalnir, Droga, Howling Stones, etc, with tunnel gear my first go `round as a monk.
I have seen a few Tank players delevel after achieving near BiS and then be the PuG hero in those zones.. but for some reason, Castle's shitter monks think its fun to get near BiS and then delevel to then solo in zones that people in bronze armor group in.
