If you are still in the halaas qeynos area, go hunt bandits solo and exp off them collecting red bandit sashes, grind there until youre 17 or 18, and you turn the sashes into a paladin guild in Qeynos for a bronze wep that you can sell for 3-9 plat! its a great way to make starter cash for someone in your situation!

Yeah that is solid advice, that scheme is hard to beat. Also keep an eye on willowisps and kill them all, you can turn in lightstones/greater lightstones in NK/SRO for good money/exp but you'll need a magic weapon to hurt the wisps.
