It is recoverable (basically take the boat and spam /corpse), but honestly it will probably be faster to ask other players in Toxx/Warrens if they have a rusty weapon they can spare (or ask players here in the forum if they can provide something, and you'll likely get an even better weapon ... if you don't mind being "twinked").
You'll lose your n00b tunic, but a point of AC won't matter, and again as soon as you find any kind of droppable tunic in your first dungeon, you won't even miss it.
