In past worlds, going back maybe 15 years, villages would tend to align roughly like this:
Anglosphere people/villages tend to be friendly with other anglosphere, US, Canada, UK etc. Poles were a little more unpredictable, I'd say you could count on a slim majority being friendly to you if you're American. Like other online games, Russians have the reputation of being a ravening griefing horde and that has tended to hold up pretty well in my experience, EXCEPT one world where I had a Russian hermit neighbor who was friendly. Of course there are always certain players who are notorious griefers regardless of language and they just kill everybody.
There used to be Korean villages but I either haven't seen them in a couple worlds or they're all connecting using IPv6; they tended to be isolationist, can't remember them ever starting shit.
I'm curious to see how the Russia Ukraine thing plays out with in-game politics, whether Ukraine players with Russians or if they move closer to the anglosphere given world events. I've never encountered a Ukrainian player to my knowledge, unless one ever happened to be the source of 'cyka blyat' griffiti left around my plundered camp.
If my country were at war with your country, would I play EQ with you? Almost certainly.
