It is fun to daydream...

If I was the dictator of Daybreak, I would see the abundantly obvious narcotic effect EQ nostalgia has on a decent chunk of people who would love nothing more than to play an official EQ with a loving spit polish applied that does not in any way tamper with the game. Don't change the art, just give it some muscle with modern technology. Don't change the game, just finish what the original developers so obviously never finished due to being rushed to push expansions out. Let me hear the original music motifs play more elegantly based on location and have them fade in and out with pizazz. Let me see my cloak of flames billow a little bit.

Don't change the game, just finish it. Watch old players return in droves, even the kind who would not play P99. Watch them get excited. Watch their excitement infect others. Profit.

This game is so damn old and still has a damn near mystical appeal to those who played it and some folks who only heard the tales of "back in the day." You're sitting on a pot of gold, albeit maybe a tiny one, but gold nonetheless and you don't even use it for half its potential.

THJ was a natural symptom.
