I could actually name a lot of other messed up things I did over the years, but I think people forget that people weren't as friendly on EQ in 1999-2003'ish. The game actually felt more like PVP than modern WoW does since groups were constantly fighting over content. I don't remember high level characters doing drive-by buffs, or giving lowbies free items etc. like they do on P99. I think the more hostile environment made us more callous towards other players because odds are most of us had been regularly trained, KS'd, player hated on etc.

That is a totally opposite experience to the one I had playing EQ during that time. My experience was that people were overall helpful and friendly, with only the occasional encounter with a dickhead.
