I don't really see this as a moral thing. To me the people who own the rights to EverQuest now didn't actually create EverQuest and IMHO, ruined it. The fact that EverQuest hasn't evolved at all, and is still more antiquated than MMOs that came out 15 years ago is pretty sad. They can't balance TLPs at all, even though the changes required would be extremely miniscule and simple.
It's why I have zero confidence in EQ 3.
Starting to feel this way about WoW too. All of the people who created WoW and made it a fun game are long gone, and the game is slowly being driven into the ground but blue-haired kids who are younger than the game itself. But simultaneously they will behave smugly as if players have no right to criticize them because they made this game etc. and it's just like... no?

Yeah thats exactly why Id love to see THJ brought into the fold.
There are so many amazing EQ moders out there that seem to really get EQ, and i just don't understand why live doesn't just monitize it and do some robolx shit.
Imagine if you could just log into a live EMU server and play EQ vs Army of Tanks.
