Everything is relative, but arguably $100k a month is rookie numbers for a gaming company. See:

Even the 80th company on that list (maker of series like Shadow Warrior and Serious Sam) makes $106
million annually.
Now, that's a little apples and oranges, since I think that studio has more games than Daybreak (although if you count expansions, maybe they're close?). But my point is, they're not doing all that great if their revenue is $1.2k million annually, and the 80th biggest game company is making two orders of magnitude more every year.
