Abuse is also correlated with anorexia, so it's not exactly a strong indicator. You can file both under "eating disorders", but jimbo and his wife tammy-ray in the trailer park are usually just fat from chugging mountain dew and ring dings.
I think Brené Brown puts it well when she says (and provides the underlying research methodology used to arrive here) that we all struggle with addiction or know someone who does. And it can take many forms like overeating. But ultimately people do what they do and lets face it if you don't learn how or don't recognize the need to eat healthy you won't.
