Oh and if someone really doesn’t want to spend money, a fucking banger first date idea is just to meet at a park and walk around it. Or anywhere scenic. Muuuuuch less pressure than sitting 2 feet away facing each other like a job interview. You can stare at the ground most of the way, just make sure to make solid eye contact and break touch barrier by touching her arm, spinning her to face you, or whatever to get her attention, and then ask a logistics question. “Do you want to continue going this way? Do you want to check out the pond? How many laps would you want to do?”
That way it’s easier for someone with anxiety but you can’t ignore eye contact 100% of the time looking straight and talking. Or look her way and make eye contact when you ask a question. But otherwise facing away is a huge pressure relief
