could pay a coder to write a custom wiki CAPTCHA, but ... I already offered to do as much, for free.

The thing is, coding the CAPTCHA isn't the issue: no matter who does what, if Rogean doesn't let us apply it, it's pointless. Rogean already turned down my offer to help, so now we all just need to be patient and wait for him and Rahvin to fix things.
