Aim for carrying six or seven bags. Also get in the habit of looting absolutely everything off every creature you kill, then go and sell those items to the vendor. Make note of which fetch only a few copper pieces and which are worth several gold, then prioritize the latter in your hunting. Things like poison venom sacs, Iksar Targ shields and the "cracked staff" are much more valuable to vendors than a piece of spiderling silk, for example. Once you're able to start regularly vendoring those type of items, you should start acquiring a decent enough amount of platinum to allow you to level and buy all the spells, food and bags you need.
