I think you just overestimate how much people prioritize tinkering with an OS in their daily lives... Most people just don't give a shit. Plenty of intelligent people who don't allocate their daily life ticking to such things.

I think people like you underestimate how much fuckery goes on behind the scenes in some OSs.
Again, i dont begrudge anyone using other OSs, but i do dislike it when someone comes into a forum i frequent and complains about win this or apple that (in the linux/bsd section) etc and goes on to ignore a well formed alternative with many offers of help from other
community members. So continue to use windows if you must. Heck i use it still myself because "reasons". Everything else is either LMDE or MXLinux.
New Fedora looks interesting, if i can scrape up some dosh for a good vid card for a lappy i may be able to drop win10 altogether.
Alternatives are not requirements. It is offered. Free, it may however cost you some time initially to learn a new paradigm or two. You needed to do this initially when you first got dos or windows 3.11. People are not born with innate knowledge.
If you dont wanna. Dont do it.
Linux distros dont care.
Just dont complain and ignore alternatives.
