Classic was all about making you travel to do tradeskilling (even though trades were almost completely worthless), so this is working as intended.
As another example, if you want to Blacksmith in Qeynos you need to go back and forth to Halas, because neither city has all the items you need.
(The live devs really hated tradeskills.)

I know this is fixed in era but having Kunark launch and not letting iksar shamans make potions due to a missing vendor was wild
