Yeah... I decided to keep my shizo rant in spoiler text so people dont have to read it if they dont want.

 

Yeah DS9 was like the edgy reminder "just because the federation is all roses doesn't mean the people that trade with gold press latinum are."

In a way, I kind of dislike it now, after we've seen how far startrek has progressed.

I take these new shows as like DS9 injected with massive steroids.

They're both that like same theme, of post modern misanthropy.

That gentle reminder, "yeah sure, some people have it nice hurray, lots of other people are miserable." type attitude that, at the start seemed like it was waking us up from an authoritarian routine... but instead was just slowly perverted everything and making people miserable and angry.

The trends today, remind me of the trends from the 90s... just like if you had Ai try to repeat them over and over.

Like all the causes that people are upset about today, abortion, race, immigration, sex.. these are the same issues we had when I was a kid.. and those were the same issues in the 1960s.

We don't care about these issues. We think the people who inspired us were cool, and THEY cared about the issues.. and we imitate the people in the 60s, and the kids in the 2000's imitate the kids in the 80s, and the kids in the 2020s imitate the kids in the 2000s.

It's like a long game of telephone. No progress. Just a more and more warped version of what feminism was. Gay pride. Anti-Racism. Everything is like, "oh if you don't want no borders, you want 0 immigration"... "oh you don't like getting pegged, that's because you're a homaphobe" .. etc etc.

Everything is just a copy of a copy of a copy.

These modern startrek shows, are just a copy of a copy of a copy. And they have inserted so much of that "woke shit" into their copies that they got rid of all the shit that made the damn show good in the first place.

But they can sit there and say, "startrek was always woke, that's why we're doing it you racist!"

It's like, it was also deep. That's the big difference. Gene Rodenberry was intelligent to come to his conclusions about what utopia should be. These kids are just trying to be as successful as he is. They don't care about utopia. They are just larping.

Startrek TNG woud like litreally write an episode about this... While the new startrek would just have a multi alien orgy scene and then roll credits.
