From what I have read in the thread on "How to enable Luclin Graphics", that is the only way.
There is a separate thread on how to "Make EQ Look Significantly Better Graphically" that has a .RAR download to update s3d files to make zones look better using Luclin textures (not Luclin character models). It can be added to the Titanium client.

oh no i mean the character textures.
there are some models for certain races i can't stand as classic, i was thinking about modding my client at some point but looks like too late
