The way things have been sliding its hard to see a thriving UK in 2030 etc. Youtube is targeting me with all kinds of content creators who go to run down towns and cities and walk around.

One of the big societal changes that you do see is thefts from supermarkets are more common than ever as more people fall behind. To combat this the supermarkets have put in some heavier anti-theft measures and just walking around you see we're living in a low trust society more and more.

(I did see this on a recent documentary on New York too so its not just here)
Oh yes trust is definitely a crucial thing. That’s why I’m super satisfied with the area that I live in, far more than my house itself. It’s not about the house to me, it never was. It’s about the area

No fences (fences are always a bad sign in my state, you put up a fence because stuff you don’t like is walking, shitting, dying, all sorts of things on your yard. If that kinda shit isn’t going on, you don’t tend to put up a fence. Now this is per my state. Other places in other states or countries may need fences to keep the Jabberwocky from eating their chickens, I dunno. But in my state, fences are to keep riff raff off your yard and if there’s respect and trust, people aren’t shitting and dying on your yard

No shopping carts where I’m at. Another good sign. Abandoned shopping carts are worse than manned shopping carts because you know the abandoned one has only literal trash in it because if there was anything important they woulda stashed it. You stash your important stuff in secret places, you don’t push it around and sleep with it. Stash it if you want to keep it

Grocery store still has self checkout. Pretty decent sign of trust, combined with greed. They put up a sign saying us customers are also going to need to start unloading their shipping trucks as well as bagging our own groceries soon

And my area is like 40% white 40% Hispanic and the rest black, like 20% gay because I can tell because they have the rainbow flag. And it works. Mostly families too, which is another good sign. Families are always better than a bunch of young adults crammed into a small space. Especially with our gun laws and alcohol. Not a great mix

But when I run I sometimes forget to lock my door and I don’t give a shit. Safe as hell

And it’s because we give a shit about each other. Oh and money. If we being serious. Not rich, but no slum either
