P99 Blue Community:
The Ring8 Player Agreement is being revised.
This thread will be open until January 31 to discuss further changes to the below revision.
If there are legitimate concerns raised, the language will be modified and brought to the UN for re-alignment, followed by another round of P99 Blue public comment.
If no legitimate concerns are raised, this language will be presented to CSR to agree to the changes.
If CSR agrees to these changes, the Ring8 Player Agreement wiki page (
https://wiki.project1999.com/Ring_8_Player_Agreement) will be updated to reflect the change.
Once the wiki has been changed, this agreement will be deemed effective. This agreement would apply to any Hard Server Restart after this agreement is effective.
Problem Statement:
On P99 Blue, as it relates to the Ring8 Roll timing, Earthquakes and Hard Server Restarts are handled differently. Earthquakes reset the Ring8 Roll timing to 30-min prior to the time of the quake. Hard Server Restarts do not reset the Ring8 Roll timing. This leads to a delay between Ring8 roll timing and the spawn time of Gloradin.
Example:
There was a Hard Server Restart on December 19, 2024 at 1:30am EST. This Hard Server Restart respawned Gloradin. However, due to the wording of the player agreement, the Ring8 roll time remained at 7:25pm EST, 30-min prior to the previous earthquake. This forced players to wait 6 hours between the time of the roll and the time of a Gloradin spawn.
Solution:
The proposed revision below brings Blue Ring8 rules into alignment with Green Ring8 rules. It also alleviates the issue of having a substantial time delay between the ring8 roll and Gloradin’s spawn time that is caused by Hard Server Restarts not adjusting the roll timer.

Hard server restart, in this scenario, would be anytime Gloradin Coldheart is spawned, for any reason prior to their normal routine 24h spawn cycle.
