I wouldn't really consider it a hack. I used to work on the mod team that did ppather for Glider.
Honestly, I doubt you'll be able to find glider binaries that'll work with a server this version - but if you can, more power to you.
So that you know, I can detect Glider server side, so at any point if I make it against the rules, you'll know...I'll know you're using it.
