I don’t see much bending over backwards these days. Logistically it’s just not possible. Considering both categories involve millions upon millions of people, what can really can be done to give one group a leg up? Sure, there can and has been some big talk, but nothing that will actually help all those millions of people all at the same time
No you are pretty much on your own unless you have your own support system. And whether someone has one of those is more of a reflection of them and their own choices than anyone else’s
