PS: my really long story about ac, defensive parses, elimination of DIs and all that jazz was to point out the importance of large amounts of data. It was relevant to the ongoing discussion.
The longer a parse is the higher your level of confidence that what actually happened was more than just luck and coincidence. There isn’t really anything wrong with your methodology. Your video is real, as are those logs. There is actual potential there - you just need more total data. Your findings may be very accurate - or not - we just do not know for certain because the data set is small. You have the capability to finish the job you started - the only question is whether you will or won’t.
In the event that you do show that the DW is a tiny bit better than 2h and that 2h + fist weaving is a bit better than DW, that will be a great starting point for the next steps in the discussion of what constitutes better. Would I doubt those findings at level 52 if there was sufficient data? Not really. As has already been pointed out the dmg bonus for 1handers for you right now is 9 … applied every 1.6 seconds before haste. IFS has a dmg bonus of only 18 at a delay of 4 seconds before haste. Epic fists at 52 has more dmg bonus potential than IFS at 52. It absolutely does not at level 60.
My parses at 60 do not translate directly to 52. This is why context is important. You need to have a good idea of what you want to learn before you parse. Part of that is understanding how the game operates at the level you are playing. For your monk - this is level 52 on a giant in Frontier Mountains in Kunark. Your results may vary from zone to zone, expansion to expansion and mob to mob.
Next steps will or would include:
-the fact that you are 52 and each level further you progress the more the damage bonus of 2handers will mature (2handers will only get better)
-the fact that 100% of your damage at 60 comes from your 2h weapon at 60 which is gifted triple attack
-the fact that you will actually take less damage when soloing/tanking from having a fraction of the ripostes from the mob (every little bit adds up)
-damage shields do exist
I never got to parse this stuff as a level 52. My monk was 59 I think when the patch went live. Warrior and Paladin were already 60. Back then PB and TStaff ran circles around IFS because all weapons had the same damage bonus. Now TStaff is still clearly better than IFS but by a much smaller margin. IFS and PB are quite similar. PB has a slightly worse ratio but a slightly better “sweet spot” for damage bonus (30 delay is about as perfect as it gets).
Having honest “big brain” discussions with you would be actually nice. I just don’t think it’s possible. It isn’t in your character.
