Not sure if I actually cried IRL or not, but I definitely had a similar experience in Everfrost when I first started.
I was
so upset ... over losing a corpse with a noobie tunic, noobie club, and like 5 silver. I eventually found it, but I probably could have leveled a couple times over in the time I wasted
