Welcome mate, if you are looking for a good solo character Iksar necromancers are really great imo. Jack of all trades and good farm for plat to help gear other characters should you wish to branch out later.
Mana regen passive, pet class, snare, fear mes and fd are all great tools that will help you enjoy your experience.
If you are looking for melee (tend to be more gear dependant) A lot of people like monks for their versatility, ability to pull, solo and FD
