They needa change the shape of the field to a septagon.

Runs are gathered by touching ANY 3 normal bases and finally homo plate.
The other plates are at various angles and distances to (adjacent bases to) allow the batter to hit to and the pitcher to pitch to certain areas to encourage/discourage various hit choices.

Loaded bases can be interesting.
6+ players all run out at once mean a loss of the following inning, or the 1st of the next game.

Running out a player involves tagging (and blood letting).

Setting out of the angular bases is the sole reason geometry is offered in school.

I blame Big Math.
